Salon walk-in queue and digital waitlist

Bring order to walk-in requests at a hair or nail salon. Give visitors a clear service turn while your appointment book continues to run separately.

Where waiting gets complicated

A booked treatment and a walk-in enquiry can compete for reception attention. Different treatment lengths make a verbal waiting estimate difficult to follow.

How the workflow works

Customers join by QR code or link, follow their place on their phone, and staff call one customer at a time.

  1. Create a service queue and place its QR code or link where customers arrive.
  2. Customers take a digital ticket and follow their place and estimated wait on their phone.
  3. Staff advance the queue as they are ready. Show the current number on a shared screen.

Service queue

A practical example

A salon uses a QR queue for walk-in consultations. Reception calls a number when someone is available, checks the requested service, and agrees the next step. Booked clients still follow the salon’s usual appointment check-in process.

SMS and browser notifications

Keep visitors informed while they wait in a service queue.

Free browser notifications

Visitors can choose to be notified when it is their turn. Included with free service queues.

Pro advance notifications

Let visitors know when they are next, before it is their turn. Enable this browser reminder for each service queue with Pro.

Pro SMS reminders

Visitors can opt into one SMS when they are next. Requires Pro, SMS enabled for the queue and separate prepaid balance paid by the business.

Browser notifications require permission. On iPhone, add the queue page to your Home Screen and open it there to enable them.

SMS requires no installation. Availability and message prices depend on the destination. Sign in and open Notifications to see current countries and prices.

Questions before you start

Will the queue merge walk-ins with our appointment calendar?

No automatic calendar connection is included. Your team decides when it can help a walk-in while maintaining existing appointments and treatment schedules.

Can this run alongside our booking or checkout system?

Yes, as a separate queue for people waiting for service. Your existing system still handles bookings, payments and customer records. Staff manage the queue in Linelemon; it does not automatically synchronize with those systems.

What equipment and connection do we need?

Use an internet-connected phone, tablet or computer for staff, and a browser on a screen for the display. Customers do not need to install an app to join a queue or view the board. Keep the internet connection available during service.

What is free, and when do we need Pro?

Yes. Service queues and pickup boards are free to use. Browser notifications when it is your turn in a service queue are also free. Customize Pro is an optional paid subscription for branding, customization and advance queue reminders. SMS reminders require Pro and separate prepaid balance.

Your next queue could be digital.

Give customers a better way to wait and your team an easier way to manage the rush.
